In this issue, we are starting the caturviMshati (24) viShNu mUrti series. They are very popular in the pAncarAtra sampradaya and mAdhava saMpradAyas. Each Murti is supposed to be a permutation and combination for the 4 weapons viz Lotus, Shank, Chakra, and Gadha. In this issue, we will cover the mantra japA and AvaraNa pUjA paddhathi for the first 6 mUrtI’s. They are part of lalitOpAkhyAnA in that they are situated in the mANikhya maNTapA after the gem forts of shrinagarA.
The makara rAshi AvaraNa is included as the continuation of the rAshi (mAsa) series. This AvaraNa can be performed along with the amAvAsya pUjA.
